IQPS - Internal Auditing Training Course Outline

Session 1 (optional):
Introduction to ISO 9001:2008 Effective internal audits begin with familiarization and understanding of the ISO 9001:2008 standard and its underlying concepts. Session includes the discussion and identification of company processes and applicable clauses.	4 hours
Session 1:
Introduction to Internal Audits Learn the purpose and objectives of audits with their respect to external versus internal audits.	1/2 hour
Roles and Responsibilities of Internal Audits Understand the roles and responsibilities of the Lead Auditor, Team Auditor, Auditee and Internal Audit Program Manager.	1/2 hour
Plan the Internal Audit Discuss how to prepare for the internal audit, such review of background information, development of the checklist, time management and sampling.	3/4 hour
Audit Execution Discuss interviewing techniques, collection of evidence, deal with confrontation and note taking of internal audits.	1 hour
Reporting Results and Writing Nonconformances Discuss the contents of the internal audit report and how to write a nonconformance.	3/4 hour
Process Audits Learn how to conduct process audits beginning with development of internal audit checklist using a process matrix. Observe a process audit together of a chosen area and learn how to complete the checklist.	2 1/2 hours
Session 2:
Internal Auditor Training Case Studies Receive the first case study and prepare audit checklists and auditee materials	1 hour
Conduct Case Study I	1 hour
Prepare and Conduct Case Study II	1 hour
Prepare and Conduct Case Study III	1 hour
Conduct an Internal Audit	2 hours
Post-Audit Review Review any auditor questions, audit trails and notes.	1 hour
