Certified Quality Auditor CQA ONLINE Self Study Exam Prep Course
Q: What is the difference between the quality auditor training courses conducted by ASQ National and your Certified Quality Auditor CQA training course?
A: ASQ National has a 90-day, web-based quality auditor training course which is broken down into three $189 modules with a total cost of $567 for the course, which is more expensive than our CQA course. The ASQ training courses have not been updated to the CQA 2019 BOK. There is not an instructor available to ask questions concerning interpretations, unlike our CQA training course. Our CQA course can be extended if needed, and an instructor is available for any questions while taking the course. The President of IQPS, Robin Dudash, has tried the “do it yourself” version, by purchasing the books and taking practice exam questions. She felt that if she studied the practice questions that she would be able to pass the CQA exam, however, she missed receiving a passing score by two points. This was because she answered questions in a way that was correct for the auditing program for her employer at the time, which was not always the correct answer. Robin’s CQA exam prep course provides valuable insight into the gray areas of auditing, such as the previous case. She highly recommends taking the IQPS CQA course before taking the ASQ CQA exam. The pass rate for this auditor course was historically over 90% when it was previously offered by the ASQ Pittsburgh Section.
Q: Why is it called Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) Refresher Training?
A: When you apply for the CQA certification exam, you must have on-the-job experience in one or more of the areas for the CQA Body of Knowledge. The CQA exam prep course does assume some basic knowledge of auditing and/or quality tools. The CQA course is intended to explain the areas of the body of knowledge and present basic quality tools and their application.
Q: I forgot my password to the Certified Quality Auditor Online Self Study Course. What can I do?
A: The password for the quality auditor course can always be found in the e-mail sent each week approximately an hour before the CQA course begins. If you still can’t find the password in the email, contact info@iqps.net.
Q: Do I get a certificate for taking the Certified Quality Auditor Course?
A: The participant is presented with a certificate indicating the passage of the CQA course and given credit for 30 hours of study (or 3.0 RUs). RUs of training are required to maintain your Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification by ASQ National or ANAB or IRCA Lead Auditor continuing education credits.

Root Cause Analysis Training and Corrective Action ONSITE Course
Q: How long is the Root Cause Analysis Training and Corrective Action Training?
A: The Root Cause Analysis Training and Corrective Action course is one day.
Q: What is the typical class size for the Root Cause Analysis Training and Corrective Action Training?
A: A Corrective Action and Root Cause Analysis class size of 16 is ideal. It allows us to work in teams of four people. However, I have taught this root cause analysis training course with as many as 25 people. I walk the RCA class through a 7-step corrective action process for a bolt that won’t go through a hole on an assembly line while the teams work on their company examples that we had chosen prior to the root cause analysis training class. I will work with you to find corrective action examples that didn’t get answered correctly – in particular an operator who didn’t follow the procedure.
Q: What is covered in the Root Cause Analysis Training and Corrective Action Training?
A: In the Root Cause Analysis Training class, we discuss the barriers in your organization that prevent you from responding appropriately to corrective actions. An example is used to walk through the 7-step corrective action process. RCA class students work in teams to use the course example to rewrite appropriate corrective action responses to identify the root cause and prevent a recurrence. A corrective action process checklist used during the root cause analysis training reminds participants after the class that this is what to think about in completing a corrective action.
Q: What is the cost of the Root Cause Analysis Training and Corrective Action Training?
A: The cost of the Root Cause Analysis Training is dependent upon the number of participants in the class, in addition to travel expenses.
Q: How do you personalize the Root Cause Analysis Training and Corrective Action Training to my organization?
A: In this root cause analysis class, after discussions, we may elect to tailor the Corrective Action course example to better relate to your industry. Remember, we are not trying to solve the problem but learn the 7-step corrective action process from the Root Cause Analysis Training class. Typically, I arrive the day before the RCA class and tour your operations to learn the processes and terminology. We also sort through the corrective actions and choose corrective action examples that didn’t get answered correctly – in particular, the blaming of the operator. The extra preparation makes the RCA class a richer learning experience. I offer an option to cover Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) discussion if needed. I also offer a more detailed discussion on the usage of Statistical Process Control (SPC), if appropriate in the Root Cause Analysis Training class.
Q: Why should I choose your Root Cause Analysis Training and Corrective Action Training?
A: In the root cause analysis class, I present a 7-step corrective action process checklist that we use during the class to remind participants that after the RCA training, this is what to think about in completing a corrective action. Personally, I’ve taken three to four of these types of root cause analysis training classes and found that after participants take the one-day class, most of them went right back to doing what they were doing. The 7-step corrective action process checklist helps my students remember what was taught in the root cause analysis training and it is the reason why I teach my training class.
